While it is on, WordPress adds the install code for you. #### In the ZebChat dashboard The inbox, visitor map, widget colours, team, reports and billing stay on [app.zebchat.com](https://app.zebchat.com/). This plugin links there. It does not copy those screens into WordPress. #### Mobile apps Answer chats on your phone. The plugin needs it to work: the chat, the inbox and the visitor data live in ZebChat. **ZebChat API** (https://api.zebchat.com/), called from your server, only when an administrator uses the ZebChat settings screen: * Creating an account sends the name, email address, password and organization name you enter. * Signing in sends your email address and password (and the two-factor code, if your account uses one). ZebChat returns a session that is stored in this site’s options. * Loading and saving the settings reads your organizations and websites; adding this site sends its name and hostname. **ZebChat chat widget**, loaded in your visitors’ browsers only while the chat is turned on. It sends ZebChat the page address and title, browser and device type, approximate location from the IP address, and the messages, files and contact details visitors choose to send. Cookie and consent options are set per website in the ZebChat dashboard. Upload the `zebchat` folder to `/wp-content/plugins/`, or install the zip from Plugins Add New Upload Plugin. 2. Activate **ZebChat**. 3. Open **ZebChat** in the admin menu. 4. Sign in, or create an account. 5. Create a website for this site, or select an existing one, and turn live chat on. ## FAQ ### Where do replies and settings live? In the ZebChat dashboard at https://app.zebchat.com/. WordPress only connects the account, chooses the website and shows or hides the widget. ### The chat does not appear. Confirm live chat is turned on and a website is selected. The widget loads only on the hostnames allowed for that website. Your WordPress address (with and without www) is sent when you create the website here. ### I use two-factor authentication. Yes. After your email and password, enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app (or a recovery code). ### How do I remove the chat? Turn **Show the chat widget on this site** off and save.
